Jazz and Blues Pianist and Vocalist
Joe Kennedy began
playing piano at 8 with Classical repertoire and began
jazz at 15. At 16, Kennedy was learning and playing at
local blues jams. At 18 Joe was playing as a sideman on
the Southeastern Wisconsin blues circuit. By 21 he had
his own working trio, and at 22 recorded his debut CD,
Submerged. In 2004, Joe took 1st place as
Wisconsin’s best Blues Keyboardist in a State wide
competition. Kennedy’s talents have been heard from
Memphis to Michigan. Kennedy received his BA in Music,
Jazz Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside
in 2007, Cum Laude, and his BS in Business Mgmt.,
Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in
2007, Cum Laude.
Through his playing,
Joe has had the chance to perform with and study with
World Class Players. He has studied with Dan Trudell,
Dave Loeb, Bruce Paulson and Jim Sodke. He has had the
chance to perform for Koko Taylor, Kenny Wayne Shepherd,
Joe LaBarbera, and Wayne Bergeron. |
